BOOKS GALORE
FROM PICTURE BOOKS TO THE CAN’T-PUT-IT-DOWN READS
In all fairness, growing up, reading was the ultimate punishment. I couldn’t bear to open a book and consume the words on a page laid out for my “enjoyment.” The irony was that I loved to write, but reading made my ADD peak. Over the years, though, I began to fall in love with the beautifully bound coffee table books that flooded the interior deign world, becoming statement pieces in and of themselves. So, as a converted “book-lover,” it felt wrong to only consume picture books, like I was cheating on words or something. So here, I will let you guys in on some of my favorite decor books, for all my wannabe readers, and some books that truly made me never want to set it down.
Single-handedly the best book I’ve read thus far…it’s hilarious, it’s gut-wrenching, it’s unbelievably hard to put down. You know it’s good when I got my mom to read it!
We’ve all seen the show, or at least I hope we have. Normal People puts you right in the heart of the relationship of two polar opposite friends who share an undeniable love for one another.
This book goes a bit off track compared to the rest, but recently, I’ve tried to get into a poetry era. Grace Burns did a truly amazing job compiling these love-focused poems that truly encapsulate what it feels like to be a young woman in love.
This book is one of my biggest writing inspirations of all time. Dolly shares the nitty-gritty details of trying to figure out life in your early twenties, making mistakes and unforgettable memories at every step of the way.
Patti Smith, the coolest to ever do it. Just Kids unveils the reality of 1960s starving artists in NYC. I geek out any time anywhere I walk past daily is mentioned.
Whenever you need a minute to decompress, Rick Rubin is the best meditation guide.
